These are called 'Puzzle Ball's and the design is shown in three sizes.
All three balls use the same patterns and they are all laid out the same. Changing the fabrics and threads changes the look of the finished ball so the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. You can mix and match fabrics and threads as long as the fabric count is the same for all the fabrics used for that ball.
Amaryllis Artworks has used 28-count Cashel, 32-count Linen, and 40-count Newcastle linen foreach of the balls.
The large ball is 19.5" in diameter and is stitched using Waterlilies Threads (Pesto and Olive Grove x 2); the medium ball is 17" in diamter and uses Weeks Dye Works (Palomino x 3, Molasses, Twilight, Mulberry, Brick x 2, Peacoat, Juniper x 2, Moss and Sweet Potato); and the small ball is 14" in diameter and also uses Waterlilies Threads (Chili x 3).
Excellent stitch diagrams, photos and instructions step you through the stitching to the assembly.
