The lovely birds in Flights of Fancy were part of a large antique sampler which was purchased this past year. The sampler is Italian and was stitched in the early 1800’s on a #40 linen in silk.
The adaptation was stitched on a #36 French Vanilla linen from R & R, using a variety of Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye works fibers. DMC equivalents are listed also.
The stitch count is: 144 W x 107 H and the finished size is 8” x 6” on a #36 fabric.
The colors are just a lovely combination of aquas, greens and golds. As an adaptation, I worked just one of the birds and mounted it on a round scalloped tag from The Bee Co.
