Emma Slade 1833. A reproduction of an antique sampler.
The stitches used in this sampler are cross stitch and half cross stitch over two threads of linen, tent stitch over one and satin stitch. Some of the cross stitches are “offset”.
The original sampler was stitched on fine silk organza, approximately 90 threads to the inch, the model was stitched on 45 ct Legacy linen in Jersey Cream, using Au Ver a Soie 100.3 silk threads.
